So if I’ve understood correctly what’s happened to @BluSkyeAllison’s crowd funder with @CrowdJustice (thread):

1. Allison drafts a @CrowdJustice pitch and sends it to them.
2. CJ vet it, accept it and host it.
3. She launches early on a weekend for best results.
4. The page is hugely successful. Allison quickly smashes her initial target of £20k and moves on to her stretch target of £60k.
5. CJ receive complaints, we don't know from whom, and at about 2pm yesterday they take the page down claiming they need to investigate. They say they aim to provide an update later today. https://twitter.com/CrowdJustice/status/1276868766190710784
6. 10 hours later, just minutes before midnight, CJ finally put out a statement saying “we messed up” and in recognition of that they won't accept "tips" on this case and will refund those they have already taken.
7. At the same time they reinstate the page, but in a hugely different form. Allison’s pitch and all her photos are now gone and so are the comments from donors. How it looked yesterday:
8. How it looks now, since they reinstated it:
9. As soon as the page is reinstated, people start donating again. Early this morning Allison reaches her stretch target of £60k. At this point CJ intervene to STOP people making any more donations. This is what you saw if you tried to donate:
10. This is not what they normally do. You can keep on giving even if the target has been met. https://twitter.com/MForstater/status/1277198541056811008
11. As of 10.43am today when she posted this update, Allison had asked CJ to increase the target. Evidently, at time of writing, they have not done so. Normally they would increase the target on request. They did so quickly in a case I was involved in. https://twitter.com/BluskyeAllison/status/1277175691004588032
12. This is the statement they put on her appeal page just after 9am. They are trying to suggest this is normal. It is not.
13. In fact, I don’t believe they have ever closed donations before now, simply because a target has been met. They make money from commission. That is their business model. So it's not in their interest to close down donations.
14. Very happy to clarify or correct if @CrowdJustice think I've got anything wrong here.
15. (post-script) Here on their own website @crowdjustice tell you that "your page will not close once you hit your Stretch Target, you will be able to keep accepting donations" (unless you specifically ask for a cap to be put on, which Allison did not).
