Hi guys my name is Victor. I am an ordinary Zimbo who has to spend the whole day at a service station to get fuel. I can't swipe for a full tank and go for grocery shopping the same day, but I work Mon to Fri and sometimes on the weekends, so i can only go shopping Saturdays...
I am told that the official rate is 57...but there is nowhere I can get that money at that rate to pay rent, buy clothes, and anything else that makes sense
So if I wait for next Saturday to buy groceries, inflation is at 786% by next week Saturday my money will buy have if not less of what i could have bought last week. Not to mention that most shops are now doubting EcoCash payments as the rumours are circulating are troubling
Money changers are now refusing bond notes, landlords want usd, but I cant transact more than 10k/20k per day to get the usd not forgetting the black market rate is now close to 100/1usd which is where i can only get the cash
This is just me, not forgetting the teachers who are earning around 3.5 k rtgs yet 5kg of chicken costs 1.5k. Rice 200. 10kg mealie meal 5usd = 500.
My prayers are with my fellow Zimbabweans that they do not resort to stealing, killing, fraud etc as a means to survive and that depression will stay away from Zimbabwe. I wonder how we got to this. I pray for a restoration of Zimbabwe. Enough is enough!
