Thread!.
Rooting in simple terms means getting access to the administrative priveleges of your Android device. Despite purchasing your Android device, there some internal information, that you cannot access, without getting rid of the administrative rights.
Once you root your android devices, you have total control over the Android system. I will now outline the advantages and disadvantages, and leave the choice to you 😀
Advantages
Install custom roms. These custom roms offer several performance fixes and tweaks to your system and are user- friendly than the stock ROMs. They are also optimized for battery performance, and update more frequently, than stock ROMs do.
A ROM, is a modified Android version that can be installed, once again with extra features and several other benefits. These custom ROMs can be installed without rooting, but it is advisable to use on a rooted device. They significantly change the look and feel of your device.
2) Removing pre-installed OEM applications
Every Android phone comes with a bunch of applications directly from the manufacturer. Most are useless and you cannot even remove them. Once you root your device, this apps go away and leave more space, for you.
Ad blocking for all apps
Pop-ups are a regular problem in most games and applications, but rooting will take care of them immediately.
Installing incompatible apps
Once you root your android phone, you get the latest Android updates, before your phone maker releases it's own. You are able to run special applications that require root access, which are generally more powerful and feature-rich than other apps.
More display options and internal storage.
Once you root your android phone, you can now install new ROMs to fully customize and tweak your device skins for a truly unique display. It will also free up your device's internal storage.
Those with low internal storage space can transfer whatever application, they want to the SD card once they root their device. Some can be transferred by default, but in an un-rooted device, this isn't possible.
Great battery life and speed
It helps unlock the full potential of your phone. Greenify is a good app that helps in closing useless apps automatically, which will improve your device performance.
Acess to root files.
Once your phone is rooted, you have access to a number of files, sections and parts of your device that would otherwise not be available. It grants you freedom to do what you want with your device.
Cpu clocking
This means it increases the processor clock speed, which helps you extract maximum performance from your processor. A good app to help you do this is No Frills CPU, which you can get it from Google Play.
More tweaking.
The reason why android is common, is coz it can be tweaked to a certain extent, unlike iOS phones. Once you root your device, you can easily configure and optimize your device for a customized feel and better performance.
Disadvantages.

Can brick your device.
The most common threat is misoperation. This could turn your device into an expensive unusable brick. To avoid this, get your apps from reliable sources like Google Play, and don't delete those files that rooting applications suggest not to.
If your brick your phone, they are two options to fix it, either by the manufacturer or take it to a competent fundi.
No more warranty.
Device makers sadly, do not cover damage caused after you root the device, or if you realize that the phone was bricked while it was being rooted.
Root and super user access.
Having access to the root of your phone, may sound amazing, until things go wrong. A wrong setting or moving the wrong item into the wrong place, can cause huge problems.
Overclocking or increasing processor speed can maximize performance, but can cause overheating of your processor.
Update problems
With un-rooted android devices, the system update no matter how late it comes, will definitely install and work well, unlike for rooted devices. You may find automated firmware updates may now be working, and some updates won't install.
Kuroot your phone is a good thing but kaa unajua wee mwenyewe huwezi, pelekea tu fundi to be secure. After rooting, be careful of the apps you install, some can damage your phone, making it a brick, which is so frustrating.
