Movie Review Thread : BALA

The movie which seemed to me a satire on the shallow, superficial society we live in...
Moral of the story is Journey of self love begins from ACCEPTANCE

All the 3 main characters more or less telling the same tale...

1) Ayushmann Khurrana as Bala : The young boy proud of his hair, looking down to others untill Karma bites him in the ass (well one can say it touches the topic of male baldness, a rising issue in today's world)...Talks about shame associated with how he looks,

He can't look himself in the mirror... But at the end accepts whatever and however he is and that was just a new beginning of his life

2) Bhumi Pandekar as Latika : A dark skinned girl who is topper of the class who is looked down just for her colour and used for her academic

Excellence... She did spend some time to be accepted by Bala but she accepted herself earlier than society could... After that she really didn't care what anyone thought about her and she was not ready to settle for anyone who can't accept her for who she really was..

Yami Gautum as Pari : I liked how she was shown as dumb, shallow tiktok stars for whom everything was a showoff and she accepts that, she was a true character, I mean people like her exists but that's just wrong, she knows it, tries to justifies it but still that was wrong...

Liked the way they showed contrast... How Bala lost his position in office as sales executive due to his looks while Pari got her work due to her looks...
Good that Latika didn't end up with Bala... And that both Bala & Latika reached a stage of self love and mutual respect..
