i was just listening to henggarae and i started thinking about the meaning(?) of the album ig ... and then that made me think about the story they tell with their whole discography... maybe it wasn’t intentional, or maybe it was (i wouldn’t be surprised bc woozi genius) +
but even though they didn’t do it with each individual song, they kinda had a life story with their albums (not all of them ofc, but some). like starting with boys be: as the title of this album explains, these song are mainly carefree, with a “boys will be boys” kinda vibe. +
then we have love & letter. to me, this album is kinda like idk the early dating stages ig. you got your first partner, and everything is good and fun. then we have going seventeen, which kinda feels like the beginning of a break-up (bc of songs like fast pace and i don’t know) +
after that, comes al1. this album’s title is kinda self explanatory. with songs like don’t wanna cry, who, and my i, this album is kinda like that period in your life when you become lost with who you are. then comes teen, age. teenage years bring rebellion from some people, +
and loss & pain from others. clap is one of the songs that has that rebellious feeling to it, while without you and trauma are songs that have the loneliness and pain aspects. after this album comes director’s cut. this album gives me those late-teen years where you go from +
being lost, to slowest figuring out who you are. it makes me think of people making close friends, and finding those people who are worth keeping around. next is ymmd. both of these albums feel like they represent the good times you have with those close friends you make. +
holiday and odihtd have that summer, carefree feeling to them, which is basically the feeling you get when you spend time with those you love. next, is an ode. this album holds that feeling of fear (aka the title track of this album). it represents the feelings of insecurity +
and doubt that many of us hold, no matter how much we try to get rid of it. they creep up on us even when we’re having fun and enjoying life. then comes fallin’ flower. falling flower sort of feels comforting. it’s basically saying, “it’s okay to love and it’s okay to be loved” +
like some of the lyrics of the title track literally are “that’s why i won’t take you for granted, because you love someone like me” and “i am a flower. because i believe in letting beautiful flowers bloom”. and last, but not least, is henggarae. this album is sort of like a +
continue to an ode, and it holds so many meanings. to kinda summarize it, this album is basically those moments in your life when you’re still lost on your path in finding who you are and what your purpose is. in left and right, they’re basically saying that it’s okay to not +
rush into life. you should go through life at your own pace, without any worries about what others think, and they even spray painted a wall that said “do your best, but maybe not sometimes”. likewise, in fearless (the continuation of fear), they basically say that every day +
is a brand new day. they’re saying that nothing lasts forever, and it’s okay to feel down sometimes, but you should always get back up. this album has more meanings to it but that’s kind of the main points that i wanted to cover. anyways i didn’t mean for this thread to be so +
long 💀💀 but yeah . oh and obviously i don’t really know if this is what svt intended with their albums, this is just my opinion on how the albums fit together into a storyline. but yeah that’s it, go stream left and right and stan svt 🤠
