why we should get a #BirdsOfPrey tv series instead of #GreenArrowandtheCanaries: a thread
starting off, a birds of prey series is what katie cassidy originally pitched for an arrow spinoff.
she is one of the senior cast members of the show, so she should deserves to have the opportunity of playing her adaptation of black canary in a series revolving around her.

a large portion of arrow viewers don’t want the future team arrow involved, and creating a comic accurate birds of prey show would enable fans to enjoy katie’s black canary without the unnecessary characters.
having a comic accurate birds of prey show could potentially correct some of arrow’s mistakes, such as olicity, all the original characters, the killing of the original black canary, etc. etc.
it could also fully connect the shows the cw produces to the shows that the dc universe produces.
what i mean by connect the two universes is they titans writers can use the introduction of barbara gordon in the upcoming season to potentially set up a mini crossover where the actress who will play barbara meets katie cassidy’s black canary.
the crossover could be a backdoor pilot to the spinoff (similar to the arrow episode titled green arrow & the canaries), and if it is successful, it could lead to a variation of katie’s original pitch.
moving on to the cast, they could have an extremely talented cast (depending on what team they choose.)

starting off, we could have @MzKatieCassidy reprise her role as dinah laurel lance / black canary.
it makes since for her to be one of the leads as it was her original idea. she is deserving to be a lead of a show that respects not only her, but the character she portrays.

secondly, we could have the actress who will portray barbara gordon / oracle on titans.
i have a feeling that her introduction was going to lead to some sort of spinoff. if they did birds of prey, it could connect the arrowverse to the titansverse.

next, we could have alan ritchson and minka kelly portray hank hall and dawn granger / hawk and dove.
most titans fans dislike them, they can leave titans and join the cast of the birds of prey series. this also gives them an opportunity to explore different storylines.

also, we could have annie ilonzeh return to the dc universe as helena wayne / huntress.
iain glen’s bruce wayne is 100% old enough to have an adult daughter. making huntress helena wayne, it would keep the series separate from the film. we would also have a biracial huntress.

lastly, rachael taylor could portray zinda blake / lady blackhawk.
it would be amazing to see rachael continue to be on the comic book scene as lady blackhawk. i feel as though she’d be the perfect fit for portraying zinda blake.
