However, it has always been a trend to shame a mass of people for being obsessive about something they like and for talking about it when that something is being played, released or brought up. This is unhealthy.
Take the case of football twitter. People do love the sport and they live tweet when they watch a match, they rant when their favourite team loses and celebrate when they score a goal, which is absolutely fine, and it is absolutely not okay to shame them for doing so.
This has been the case when GOT were trending. People were so obsessed about the series and were talking about it whenever they got a chance. Fandoms exist for such a reason.

By disassociating yourself from such fandoms, if you think you will be considered elite, you& #39;re absolutely wrong. That simply means you didn& #39;t like the sport/game/series/movie. Nothing more, nothing less.
Get down your high horse now. Also, I& #39;m seeing people trying to own up a certain section of twitter, like film enthusiasts twitter and more, as they shame the people who enter new nd talk of Scorcese or Stanley Kubrick. Stop that. You don& #39;t own their movies.
Anyone has the right to talk of their favourite director/movie, even if they had very recently discovered them. Some aren& #39;t as articulate as you& #39;re but that doesn& #39;t mean you get a pass to mock them. Stop it.
It is okay to talk of something you like and don& #39;t let the people who consider themselves elite, stop you. Don& #39;t let them shame you for being a certain way, for being excited for a release coz they aren& #39;t any different, when it comes to their favourite area.
