"The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer", is a seminal work on what happens when you face cancer. Numerous unforgettable accounts that live with you long after the book's shelved. I borrowed this book from @gr8ashes in 2011. @DrSidMukherjee
"Being Mortal", a mandatory read when dealing with a terminal disease of a loved one and death is in sight. It's a natural process, we refuse to accept it. @Atul_Gawande
"The Heart" by #kerangal a heart-breaking story of parents who decide to let their child live long after he's gone, through organ harvesting. Borrowed the book from Ashwin Rajeev, in 2018.
"When Breath Becomes Air", by Dr. Paul Kalanithi's courageous journal of his demise, followed by an equally brave epilogue by his wife. Can't miss the description of #arizona summer.
Heart disease lies in our psychological & metaphorical heart that as you go through Dr. Dean Ornish's "Reversing Heart Disease". A great handbook to being a lot more receptive and a lot less combative in life.
Closing it out with "The Gene: An Intimate History", a great learning exercise, when you are ready to understand the science of genes. @DrSidMukherjee
