Here are two super-fun stories!
1. On June 20, the day after bars were allowed to reopen in L.A. County, about 500,000 people decided to go out for a drink. Before COVID-19, about 700,000 people went out to nightlife spots every weekend. https://laist.com/latest/post/20200627/a-lot-of-people-in-LA-went-out-to-bars-the-day-after-they-reopened
2. The LA County Public Health Department recently surveyed 3,700 food establishments and found that fully 83% are in violation of coronavirus regulations.

Does that statistic kinda freak you out? Good. It should! https://laist.com/latest/post/20200627/80-percent-of-LA-restaurants-not-following-coronavirus-guidelines
3. If you feel unsafe or nervous about being in a restaurant for 30-60 minutes, how do you think employees who work in bars and restaurants feel about being there for 4-8 hours? Just think about that.
4. Personal freedoms. You do you. Etc. I get it.

But when coronavirus deaths and cases shoot up — AS THEY ARE ALREADY DOING — don’t act baffled and don’t pretend there’s nothing we could have done to prevent it.
