Why can't people be nice and honest and have dang moral codes
worst is many people do bad things but justify themselves, meaning their conscience tells them it's bad but they decide to ignore their conscience

I'd like to put a distinction between that and taking the wrong turns bc of bad habits and you don't lure yourself in thinking it's not bad plus you work on changing it
This kinda thing is also super personal like you don't know people internal struggles. There's a reason some terms like "bad frequentations" are coined like some ppl/situation can bring the worst out of some ppl
Ppl think some others don't change bad habits bc they don't want to change, but that's too simplistic. People wouldn't write tons of books to help other change habits if all it takes is a "ok I'll do it"
I've read an explanation about Nietzsche's "God is dead and we killed him" he meant that God's "death" is a bad thing bc many people don't have a moral compass anymore since atheism grew stronger thanks to science
I talk about this bc the bible shares values that are now overlooked by those who consider themselves wiser than religious ppl bc they have science. Values like humility.
First dude : I'm a good person, and I can judge others/be shitty to those I deem they deserve it and it's all excused bc I'm a good person
Dude 2 : I'm not a good person and I'm repenting
Dude 2 : I'm not a good person and I'm repenting
the first dude thinks he's God's left hand like he thinks it's being fair to speak in a demeaning way about the second guy, tho it doesn' bring anything constructive. But all he does is fullfilling his need for violence, and he hides such need to himself.
If you like being horrible to other people, like when you estimate they deserve it, no matter how you put it, you're a sadist.
My point is some people are too quick to find themselves excuses to be dick to others, to the point where they may be unnecessarily excessive in what they do to others. If you aren't a sadist, why would you resort to violence first ?
If anything, how about you watch 12 angry men, this movie gives various shades of what I'm discussing in this thread
