Globally, the pandemic is gaining more steam https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/19/us/coronavirus-new-dangerous-phase.html and countries with currently low numbers should use the time to prepare very well.
While blocking travelers form US, Brazil and Russia is a reasonable measure at this moment https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/26/european-union-us-visitors-coronavirus, international air traffic needs to be reopened asap. Systematic health screening at airports is the proper measure to do so safely

But few governments seem to have prepared overall pandemic game plans with fully developed response scenarios for the months and years ahead: a dangerous strategic and cognitive underpreparedness.
Unfortunately, EU governments are somewhat wasting precious months until either a second larger wave hits european countries (see #Portugal https://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2020/06/26/portugal-brings-back-some-coronavirus-lockdown-measures-in-lisbon.html )
... or/and European countries could be "surrounded" by a surge of new massive outbreaks in Egypt, Iran, Turkey, UK, etc. and thus need to close doors once again.
Digital contact tracing across Schengen is impossible due to a huge varity of apps. Europe would also need capacity for molecular mass diagnostics and a digital test passport system to enable safe travel within #Schengen area and internationally without new super spreader events.
