woke racism is a thing and i think we should start talking about it
essentially, it's a nb person using their privilege basically just for the sake of being loud instead of worrying about being correct. instead of amplifying the voices that actually matter on the subject, they instead talk over using their opinion.
some examples:
-all the white people destroying property at protests despite Black folks telling them to stop!
-white folks "calling out" JoJo Siwa, who used face paint on a white actor to look like a monkey, for blackface
-accepting an apology on behalf of everybody from an influencer who publicly apologizes for previous racism
it's a form of dismissal, and a pretty harmful one at that. the people with the loudest voices are often seen as representative of a movement or of an ideology, and if you are loudly misguided, whether you like it or not you WILL make Black people and their fight look bad
i guarantee that's not what you want. so in essence, pick your battles. amplify Black voices. share their stories before your own. and always think critically.
