Today at the peaceful protest in Worthington, Worthington Chief of Police Robert Ware:
-Said systemic racism doesn’t exist within the police force
-Refused to answer any of our questions until we listened to him, threatened to walk off (1/?)

-Does Worthington police have tear gas on hand
-Why exactly we were out protesting
-What he thought about the statistics showing CPD disproportionately target black people

to sit down and have a conversation and consider all perspectives” while ignoring and deflecting nearly everything we said, and refusing to consider our perspectives. He also:
-Stated that police were taking pictures of cars in the TWHS student lot in case any protestors (3/?)

we asked if people who came to meet with him would be targeted later for “disorderly conduct” or “impeding traffic”

This is Robert Ware. He is the chief of Worthington Police and doesn’t believe systemic racism exists within the Worthington Police. He refused to have a dialogue with us and deflected nearly every question we asked, even after we heard him out at his request. @WorthingtonOhio
