Considering I have had quite a following on here for some time, I’ve come to understand that there are a lot of Catholics (many who are in high school and looking at universities to attend) who follow my lead and respect my opinions. https://twitter.com/melaniedio/status/1276569968767877121
Because of this, I wanted to be honest. I do not want other devout Catholics to attend Villanova and be met with a wall of liberalism and heresy. It’s been hard for me, and I’m very strong in my beliefs. But a year of hearing constant Catholic disrespect in the classroom is sad.
I felt it important to speak up for my Church, and be honest with my experiences at what I initially believed to be a Catholic school. Do not make this same mistake, either for yourself, or for your children who look to you when deciding on a college.
Just like any drama on social media, I expect to be met with pushback. This is not something I will respond to. My intents have been fulfilled, and I’ve done my part in being honest with my followers about Villanova as a “Catholic” institution.
I have no interest in continuing a dialogue. I merely want to get settled in at my new school and finally learn some really enriching Catholic theology.
I expect Villanova to want to defend themselves, & that’s fine. But I’m not going to get into a “he said/she said” war. I do have sufficient evidence to back up what I said; sharing that would be something I’d have to consult with a lawyer. That’s way past the purpose of all this
I simply wanted to be honest about my experiences, and ask for prayers for my new journey at a true Catholic school.
Thank you to everyone SO much for your kindness and support. It has been really comforting.
I’m not shocked at people questioning my claims but I take solace in knowing truth always prevails. God bless
