The fear i have going to see a new provider is real. You don’t know how racist they’ll be & your life literally is in their hands. The amt of advocating & convincing that’s reqd to be believed. I’ve experienced this with some BIPOC providers too bc we all breathe white supremacy.
yes talking to your patients or offering resources is important. However, there are power dynamics there. Can you just have resources and books available for ppl to read while waiting and also to borrow? That way everyone can see and learn while waiting?
This could be good for your BIPOC patients to see, too. Id feel that I was safer knowing my provider is trying to be actively anti-racist.
