Ok, so for people asking, for news articles if you'd like to save a copy to add to your citation manager you can do the following to export it to a pdf:

1. Go to file --> print
2. Then there should be some sort of drop down option menu that will help you save as a PDF. If you use Chrome it will say "save as PDF" for Safari and Firefox it will look like the attached image.

I removed the name of the printer in the photo b/c printers are easy to hack.
Then choose save as PDF from the dropdown menu and save the file to your favorite file location.

If you use Zotero for citation management, then you can just attach a file to the citation for the article after you create it.
Also, before I add it to Zotero if I have any notes to add to it or things to highlight I do that first before uploading. Then if I still have additional notes after then upload I tack on a note to the article citation using the notes feature.
Anyway, hope this is useful to somebody.
Also, please, please, please create a backup of your citations library! It is best to have two backups in different formats. I have my library backed up to my external hard drive and also to the cloud.

It'd be a shame to do all that collection work only to lose it.
This means you also need to do frequent backups. If you setup your library for cloud backups that can be set to run any time changes are made.

Then ideally you would also want to backup to your alternative location (in this example external hard drive) at the end of the day.
Backing up every couple of days is fine (I'm trying to meet people where they are), but keep in mind that every time you make changes and don't backup this compounds how much you could lose if something happens.
If you learn nothing else from this thread, backup your shit (frequently)!

All it takes is one rogue coffee cup, toddler, power cable, virus, etc. to lose your hard work. And every time somebody loses a dissertation b/c of not backing up a little part of me dies.
Anyway, I am muting this thread so I can get some citation organization work done.
