Okay, before I run out for errands:

Y'all are very into using "Karen" as an insult and won't be dissuaded. And I know, it's popular and it's talking about a specific kind of person and it's "not all Karens" and yeah, yeah, okay ...

But I know a Karen, and this messes with her.
She's Karen. She's not "a Karen."

She's a decent person, fully supportive of BLM and equality and rights for everyone. She doesn't yell at managers or fake medical conditions because she doesn't want to do things.

And she gets that it's not about her.

But it's still messed up.
Imagine hopping onto social media and seeing your name being used as a synonym for the worst behavior ever.

You know it's not you. You know this. You try very hard to distance yourself mentally.

But it's still a giant mindfuck, seeing everyone decide that YOUR NAME = ASSHOLE.
I have a feeling the "Karen" thing is going to be yet another of those moments on social media we regret in hindsight, because while calling out the behavior is important the collateral damage is just selfish and self-centered.
And please, miss me with "But it's about what Karen *represents*" and "don't take this from people" and etc, etc.

You're being mean.

You're having fun being mean.

Sure, you care about calling out the behavior, but you also think it's cool.

And you're being mean.
This this this this fucking this

I think you're going to find "coming up with a shorthand for women you consider shitty" is generally a bad idea that backfires. https://twitter.com/89_rakhar/status/1276932224265252864
This is how *I* feel about it, because you're hurting my friend's feelings.

Read deeper all you want, but I won't be doing it, I won't be retweeting it and I won't be encouraging it. https://twitter.com/RogoSprout/status/1276933092318609408
And here's the other side of it. https://twitter.com/Deci_BelleUK/status/1276933186132590592
You just shattered glinner's dreams. https://twitter.com/doc_shelton/status/1276936570747133953
Someone suggested "Khaleesi" and ...

Yeah, actually, why didn't that catch on?
People keep saying this but just today we have a new "Karen" video going around and guess who I mainly see using "Karen" as an insult?

White people. https://twitter.com/BrianWithCheese/status/1276955612539019264
Did you just ...

Did you really just equate being a police officer with being named "Karen?" https://twitter.com/Kanta_Mizuno/status/1276971119636078593
It's not as meme-y, I guess. https://twitter.com/Xepscern/status/1277034003258847232
And that's fucked up, too! Always was fucked up, always will be fucked up.

It's just pointless and cruel. https://twitter.com/TheExiaRoss00/status/1277036174910111744
