The biggest barrier to bitcoin is the ego of the ‘sophisticated investor.’

In order to understand bitcoin you have to admit that you spent your whole life thinking you knew what money was when you didn’t. https://twitter.com/nic__carter/status/1276911871975657473
It’s a really tough process to go through. Everyone finds that difficult.

In this thread I propose that understanding ‘why bitcoin’ is complex information that travels slowly through the market. https://twitter.com/seanplavery/status/1213634490985267200
But it’s more than that. It’s not just complex information, it’s aggressively heterodox. It dismantles your worldview in a way that’s extremely uncomfortable.
This is especially true for those who find it important to understand how the world works, put effort into that process, and get comfortable with orthodox assumptions.
Many top tier of investors can check their ego and probably already own bitcoin. The next tier will be tougher because their inferiority strengthens the ego’s resolve and prevents them from being open minded.
For a professional investor to understand bitcoin will take quite a lot of time and research. But before they get started, they first have to accept that they might not even know *what money is* - that’s the biggest barrier right now.
The fact that the unbelievably basic FUD in this article is still being addresssed seriously demonstrates how early we are.

Almost no one has any idea what bitcoin is.
