Let’s talk about Pocono for a second. The triangle itself is unique but the amount of infield road course configurations are way cooler.
You probably noticed the D-Oval in the middle. That’s right! From its opening up until the 1990’s, Pocono had a .75 mile short track that jutted through the infield, behind pit lane and back out on to the front straightaway.
The facility is also big enough that to this day, there are 3 totally unique road course set ups on each end of the speedway.
The big boy road course, which includes the infamous tunnel turn, is actually run backwards to the main circuit. Daunting task to think about.
The speedway also does kart racing, so inside of turn one there’s a .75 mile gokart track.
