Hi #Patriots! This is to tell a story about @TimTebow. Tim probably doesn't remember this but my now 17 yr Old son does & so do I. It was my son's 5th birthday. Not long after Tebow 1st became a talking head on ESPN. My son, like me, is a huge Bama fan, but I always liked Tim.
See.... @TimTebow was a spectacular QB for my Crimson Tide's nemesis, the Florida gators a few years before. He beat us... made us look bad and to top it all off... he really toyed with the hearts of Bama fans during his recruiting process. Tim was a star before most ever heard..
Of him. There was something different about him though. He loved God,.said the word JESUS publically. He stood behind his beliefs even knowing it would probably hurt his Career. AND IT DID. @TimTebow is a winner, a stellar athlete & team player, but most of all he was a believer
Most Bama fans hated him because he broke their hearts when going to Florida, the rest of the country hated him because he was a good guy and a definite threat to their college football team's record. @TimTebow was an anomaly in college football...he LOVED GOD & told you so.
Following college he went to the NFL. As I said, Tim is a winner. Maybe a little unorthodox, being left handed & had a tendency to pull the ball down and run with it. Not something the NFL likes seeing their poster boy QBs do. His record wasn't bad, his stats weren't great, but
He was winning football games. But Tim had one thing working against him... His faith in GOD. I surmise this more than anything is why @TimTebow was not given a fair shot as a NFL QB. I mean, he was a leader, an athlete and a winner...but he never really got that chance to play.
Now...to my Son's 5th Birthday. I asked tim in social media for a happy birthday Shoutout for my son. He loved Tim because I did. The shoutout didnt come on his birthday. It didnt come the next day, the one after that...or even the next one. Several days had gone.. everyday my
Son having me check to see if @TimTebow had sent him his birthday wish. It didn't come. I told my son that Tim was just a super busy guy and gets 1000's of messages everyday. He probably just didn't see ours, but would wish him a Happy Birthday if he had seen it. I was sure of it
Well... 6 weeks or so pass and the 5yr old boy had moved on to other things. His feelings wer ehurt at 1st, but he understood Tim was a busy guy. Anyway... I get a notification that I have a message on this platform. Tim had responded. Not only did he wish that 5 yr old Bama fan
A happy birthday... he took the time to write a heart felt apology for missing his chance to talk to my son on his Birthday. A lot of talking in this thread to get to that, but I think the story shows you what @TimTebow is like at his core. He is an anomaly... a fantastic one.
