How is it acceptable that children's right to education is a lower priority than adults' right to drink in a pub?

Schools are still closed for most secondary years and many primary-aged kids are not back. How is this acceptable when pubs, restaurants etc will reopen next week?
There is a real possibility that opening pubs, restaurants etc will increase the spread of the virus and, if that happens, schools might not be able to reopen in Sept. This would be a travesty for children and teenagers, many of whom will have already missed 6 months of school.
Not being in school not only deprives children of academic learning. School also provides children and young people with structure and daily opportunities for social and emotional learning, autonomous decision making, planning, self-regulation, creativity and physical activity.
Providing little or no guidance and support to schools, and not prioritising the needs of children and young people, is shortsighted and carries a very real long-term risk for the younger generation.
