same story every single time - if govt would properly fund + support + be accountable for the health and safety of every single person in this country, they could safely innovate. they didn't, they haven't, and you can't innovate your way out of those things. order of operations.
my mind has been blown over the last few years at the number of thoughtful and intelligent leaders that have lined up behind bad tech ideas. intersectional policy tables right now or bust because the danger of this type of moment and problem is real.
and my patience is gone with policy community members who maintain political access and power by staying quiet about harms they will never themselves suffer due to some of these tech ideas (whether they know about the harms or just don't bother to learn, same outcome).
anodyne policy guidance from outside government is its own type of grift, and Canada is pretty full of it.
