Why do SO many people hate zutara and kacchako??? You hate growth?? Mutual respect??? The idea that not every fucking ship in the world has to be gay???? Like just..... i saw a post saying zutara is a ship for straight people and like why???????????? Why does it have to be???

Why cant ships be for everyone all the time? Why can’t people ship what they like without being shamed for it? Why is calling a ship “straight” or “for straight people” always meant as an insult lmfao you guys are just.... so friggin mean to people sometimes its extremely

disheartening. And dont even get me started on kacchako. Ive seen so many of my favorite kacchako artists struggle with posting works because of all the hate they’ve gotten. So many people misunderstand these ships. They are not “nice girl saves the asshole guy from being an ass”

They are not “abusive guy takes advantage of girl’s kindness.” They are not inequal. In fact, they’re only fully based on mutual respect and strength. Both ships have this. Katara is not only physically strong but emotionally as well, where Zuko learns from her how to be more

emotionally strong and available, as well as how to trust and be vulnerable with friends and family. And Zuko teaches Katara that anger is okay, he fully supports her when she goes to hunt down that guy but then also supports her when she doesn’t go through with it.

He shows her that mercy is a strength too. And that moment they share in the crystal cave??? It might be the first time in the series we see Zuko as vulnerable. No, he doesn’t do the right thing right away, but he spends time at the end of the series trying to be better.

And then there’s Kacchako. You have Bakugou, who is a fucking asshole honestly. But he treats Uraraka with more respect than anyone else in the series, because he treats her like a fucking equal. He doesnt go easy on her. He doesnt baby her. If it had been a fight with him

and midoriya, NOBODY wouldve wanted bakugou to go easy on him. So why would it be any different with Uraraka??? And Uraraka does almost the same with with Bakugou as Katara does with Zuko. She tells him the fucking truth. She gets right to the heart of the issue and says

“This is your problem and you need to fucking fix it.” Shes not mothering him. Shes not fixing it for him. Shes calling it like she sees it and he ends up respecting and valuing that because most people are too afraid to say that to him and just be fucking honest with him.

All of this is a long-winded way of saying these couples make each other better. They respect each other and save each other in more ways than one. Katara teaches Zuko sacrifice, Zuko teaches Katara mercy and strength, Ochako teaches Bakugou forgiveness, Bakugou encourages

Ochako’s strength and skill. They’re strong together AND apart, and that’s what makes their dynamics so interesting. Stop being so fucking boring and binary and thinking a ship can only be interesting if its sunshine and rainbows all the fucking time. Zutara and Kacchako are

about growth and understanding. Something you haters clearly fucking lack lmao. Anyways, thats my friggin rant, I’m so tired of you basic fucks hating on ships which are NOTHING but insanely good and interesting. Go be boring in some other fandom lmao
