Traffic circle is closed today and a self-described boogaloo @Mattattacks25 is holding a Black Lives Matter sign, talking with the deputies, and giving speeches on the treasonous Confederacy and the evils of slavery. Welcome to Graham, North Carolina!
A Black man from Burlington eventually joined him on the corner. Later, a Gibsonville woman with a sign protesting the Sheriff's ban on protesting showed up. The three had never met but chatted casually with each other and with folks passing by about why each was there.
Two other women showed up with Bibles to pray for peace. At this point, everything was quite relaxed with protesters occasionally chatting with law enforcement.
At 11:15, Graham Police Department came across the street quickly, grabbed the Black Lives Matter sign, arrested the boogaloo, and ordered everyone else (including media) to leave immediately.
"I'm going wherever I can be heard!"
This man walked until the Graham police quit following him then started a silent protest on the next corner, fist in the air. #BlackLivesMatter
And this is how moments become movements.
