27 groups wrote to the @CMODelhi & @LtGovDelhi pointing out inconsistencies in the policy. We also asked for the fixed rates to be made applicable for ALL COVID patients seeking pvt treatment (who would not get free treatment under any law/scheme). 2/n https://twitter.com/inayat_s_kakar/status/1275409784921944065?s=20
Circular wrongly published the no. of beds in each pvt hospital that should be available at fixed rates on the basis of "60% of COVID beds", thereby reducing the beds covered under fixed charges. @msisodia @AkshayMarathe @AtishiAAP @raghav_chadha @Saurabh_MLAgk @ShaleenMitra 3/n
Special concessions were also given to @MaxHealthcare (incidentally where @SatyendarJain was receiving treatment)

Under the circular, the fixed rates would be applicable on just 120 beds at Max, however as per the POLICY it should have been 150 beds. 4/n
For hospitals that have received land at concessional rates, the Circular did not account for the 10% beds which must mandatorily be free for EWS patients. Hence total no. of beds chargeable as per the hospital's own rates was purposely inflated. @NITIAayog @MoHFW_INDIA 5/n
Delhi Govt has claimed to @timesofindia @RemaNagarajan that in hospitals were 10% beds have to provided free for EWS patients, hospitals can charge their own rates on only 30% of the beds & "not 40% as stated in the Circular"
@socialjurist @DelhiVsCorona @ArvindKejriwal 6/n
Delhi Govt also claims to have clarified to @MaxHealthcare by email on 24 June, that the hospital would have to provide fixed rates for COVID treatment on 150 beds.

Yet, the Circular has neither been retracted nor re-issued.

Delhi's policy to fix rates for COVID treatment in pvt hospitals is unworkable in absence of public information about the no. of beds allocated in each category (isolation, ICU with or without ventilator) & the current bed occupancy. @jeevika_shiv @praxis_india @gluppschlopp

By refusing to issue a revised Circular, it seems that @AamAadmiParty has no intention to enforce the policy fixing the rates for COVID treatment
