Growing up, my black skin was always made fun of. It took me ages to learn to love the skin im in. The skin God gave me. My mum would always say: "Those people cannot create a tiny ant or the bee you see in the tree, the way God can, so ignore them" .... https://twitter.com/Mongezi_Mk/status/1276805960393261056
"who are they to judge your looks." At the time it didnt make sense. Today it makes perfect sense.
I had no self confidence, constantly wished I was invisible and hated myself.
As I got older I started to love my skin and in the process found a man who loves my melanin. He pushed me to see the beauty in dark skin and in myself. @LucioSWZ
I met lots of other people along the way who pointed out the beauty in my skin, which helped me build that confidence and im very grateful for them. Photographers like @thembelaniii and @Mongezi_Mk are helping me show it off. 😁
