The strangest group on Fintwit are the people who think renting is generally cheaper than owning. It’s the strangest phenomenon!

People are now trying to tell me that the cost of fixing a boiler or paying a mortgage are not embedded (with margin) in rent and honestly what planet are folks living on?

“Let’s do some simple math!” It’s all coming together folks.

Last thing I’m going to say on this: in the US we massively subsidize homeownership and that is a policy choice we DO NOT have to be making, and I’m not defending it. But it’s definitely a reality.
