Mears with its £1 Billion contract from Home Office to manage asylum housing admitted to MPs it failed 2carry out assessments b4 placing trafficking victims, pregnant women & children in accommodation that put them at risk – then backtracked on the statement hrs later.

Late last night there were reports that traumatised residents of the Hotel were still sitting on the streets b4 alternative accommodation was sorted & then were allegedly forced to sign new contracts without interpreters

They are dehumanised, they have no money because hotels give them 3 meals a day & were rapidly crammed into hotels with little social distancing during #COVID19 & a mental health and medical crisis spiralling out of control

Desperate & vulnerable asylum seekers in the midst of a global pandemic, despite the hatred & bile they face, deserve our compassion & humanity in a city #Glasgow which was built by immigrants
