For most of us, Saturday is a day off where we can put our feet up, have a cup of tea, and watch some telly... but Lossie is tasked with #SecuringTheSkies and #SecuringTheSeas of the United Kingdom, a job that means we are working 24/7.

UK Quick Reaction Alert - scrambling against unidentified or potentially hostile aircraft in or around UK and @NATO airspace.

We guard the north of the UK, @RAFConingsby guards the south. @RAFBrizeNorton provides us with air-to-air refuelling.

Maritime Patrol - hunting for potentially hostile submarines in and around UK and @NATO waters.

Two of our @P8A_PoseidonRAF are temporarily at @Kinloss_Bks while our runways are resurfaced.

A total of 9 Poseidon MRA Mk. 1 have been ordered.

Global Operations - our people are deployed to a number of locations around the world, delivering or enabling air power.

51 Squadron @RAF_Regiment are part of #TeamLossie, defending our people, aircraft, and airfields so that we can deliver air power.

@NATO Baltic Air Policing - 6 Squadron are in Lithuania, deterring Russian activity in and around Alliance airspace.

Allies have been working closely together in the air, as well as integrating with Alliance ships and ground units.

Falkland Islands Quick Reaction Alert - our pilots and technicians maintain four Typhoons on 1435 Flight.

They are supported by an A330-200 Multi-Role Tanker Transport providing air to air refuelling, and an A400M Atlas to provide Maritime Patrol.
