Let me bring your attention towards the father-son duo who died because of #PoliceBrutuality in Tamil Nadu, India. A thread for people in a very simple words and things that I know +

So, on 19th June at 8:15pm, Jayaraj (59) and his son Bennix Emmanuel (31) were arrested by the police who were patrolling for breaking the lockdown norms.

According to the lockdown curfew rules, they were supposed to close the shop at 8pm. They exceeded by just 15 minutes. This led to the police arresting Jayaraj on Saturday. When his son went to enquire about his father he was also arrested.

Both the father and son were booked under Section 188, 353, 269 and 506(2) of the Indian Penal code.
While in custody both of them were brutualy tortured by the police. They were beaten up with sticks and idk what more, their knees were smashed, +

their genital area and back side were brutualy tortured. Their lawyer says that wherever they sat, the area used to get filled with blood. Eye witness have said that both Jayaraj and his son were bleeding from the rectum! (I'm literally shaking rn)

Their chest hair was ripped and all this while they were fully naked! Yes you read it right!
Their lawyer somehow got them out and they were admitted to the hospital but Bennix passed away because of his injuries on the 22th of June +

and later his father Jayaraj passed away on 23rd June.
Jayaraj's wife has filed a complaint against the police brutality.
If the "protectors" oppress us then where will we go?
