India just hit 5 lakh Corona cases and NTA still hasn't released any news regarding JEE and NEET postponment. Here are some points on why the decision to conduct jee and neet exam in this pandemic is very vacuous:
1) Around 30 lakh students are going to attend JEE and NEET combined, due to which there will be a lot of crowd outside the exam centres. Maintaining social distancing inside the centre's might be helpful but what about the crowd outside?
2)The crowd outside also includes parents, guardians, staff and security. This crowd may contain many aged people and others with respiratory illnesses . One single Corona patient is enough to create a hotspot at these centers.
3) There can be a chance of human error in the cleaning and sanitization of the rooms and we cannot afford to take that chance. One year lost is better than losing countless people's lives.
4) The attendance sheets, stamp pads, fingerprint sensors are nudged by each and every student in the room.
5) Apparently they don't even provide fresh pens for every session which leads to many students using the same pen after each session.
6) we are getting an average of 15,000 cases each dayand rising, and by the time of our examination on July 18th the cases would have rised to an upwards of 8 lakh.
7) Many of the students might even miss the exam just in the fear of contracting the virus and spreading it to their family thereby missing a chance to appear for the exam due to which he/she would have to drop a year.
8) We students are frustrated due to the lack of reply from NTA and have no clarity of the ongoing issue of postponement that is being spread by the news.
9) Wearing a mask for prolonged period of time in a room with many other students can become suffocating and may affect the performance of a student in the exam which would further take a hit on the mental health of the student.
10) There might be a few students or parents who are already affected by the virus but still haven't picked up on the symptoms and are unaware which could lead to a fast spread into the crowd causing many families and students to suffer. The cost of recovering from the virus(1/2)
in hospitals isn't cheap either and many families cannot afford those expenses. The hospitals are already getting filled up with a lot of patients leading to many people being stranded without help.

11) Many students who are quarantined right now due to the virus will not be able to attend the entrance exams due to which a mental pressure will build up in them which could lead them to take a step which we don't want to see.
12) Students living in remote areas wouldn't be able to travel to their alloted centres due to trains being shut down till August 12.
13) How is one supposed to concentrate on studying for exams when all they hear are the number of lives the coronavirus has claimed. Moreover, some of these students or their family members could be infected by the virus, which just makes the situation more stressful.
Therefore taking into light the above mentioned points, we would like you to postpone the exams till the virus spread starts decreasing and comes into control.
