lots of takes about bi/pan lesbians on my timeline and I honestly don't understand why it's such a big deal? gender and sexuality are both so complex and have so many factors, some people are bound to not feel comfortable being labeled with the big, main terminologies
even if it sounds incoherent to you and you don't understand what it entails (and even I, personally, aren't sure what bi/pan lesbians are), if people feel comfortable being called that I'll let them be
adding to this thread: I'm seeing a lot of "listen to lesbian voices" and while I agree, I also can't ignore my friends' strong feelings of identity and euphoria upon being called lesbians, despite being in relationships with nb people / men. It has to stem from /somewhere/
And finally, from what I've gathered, the "Bi/Pan" part is a suffix, a way to simply add onto an existing term. It doesn't try to redefine what being a lesbian is, it's simply a way to clarify someone's sexuality further. It's more tools to play with in a sense
The LGBT+ community has a long history of clarifying terms and changing our preconceived notions, like being a a man or a woman, or liking people of different genders. We made a lot of terms throughout history and I think it's weird we're hung up on this one
