Alright well this has gotten big enough that the trolls are starting to find it, so I may end up muting this but MANY OF THESE FOLX WERE UNWILLING. This was a MASS. MURDER. and you are implying that these people were just lemmings and were at fault. Quit making jokes about it.

Alright. Adding in: a huge number of those killed were children (the first ones especially), and their deaths were used to coerce the parents as well. Many were at gunpoint.

The comparison is never of the same scale. People use it to mean buying into an idea or being suckered, not even blind obedience. A lot of people fucking died.

It bothers the shit out of me that people have watered it down into an every day phrase that they toss around like conversational seasoning, rather than it being used for the very deep and sinister type of thing that it was.
