1/ Not a gold bug, just wanted to share some fundamentals.
The US has 8135 tonnes of the gold reserve = 61546320 troy ounces = $462,936,986,400 with the current price of $1,770.

2/ So the current M0 money supply of $5.15 trillion is only backed by $463 billion worth of gold. This is fine when there is a strong economic growth as the real value of a currency is backed by its GPD.
3/ However when the economic growth is in question, and its currency isn't backed by gold or something of value. It's likely for the currency to experience a sharp devaluation. Just something to think about.
