actually i’m tired of acting like all sexual identities are valid when their creation was based in painting other identities poorly
pansexuality is not valid because it is by definition bisexuality, with an extra flourish of wording to make it seem like pansexuality is more woke and bisexuality is transphobic
bi lesbians do not exist because lesbians cannot be attracted to men and bi people are being erased by this term (which is also used in transphobic ways i.e. ‘well i’m a bi lesbian bc i like trans women which means i must like men a Little’)
dare i say. asexuality is not a sexuality, it is a sexual preference, because an abundance of sexual attraction is not a sexuality, so a lack of it cannot be. ALSO asexuality is constantly used to continue the myth that the lgbt community is hypersexual and “dirty”
like you have Got to think when you’re considering a label. does a label with that definition already exist? what does it mean that you’re choosing this label instead of that one? does this label make any sense or does it mash up two completely opposite identities?
and not that Straight people matter here, but we do NOTHING for ourselves when we use terms like these besides break up our community into tiny microcosms of identity that straight ppl will never understand or care about
does it really matter if someone individually wants to identify as a greyromantic asexual bi lesbian catgirl? no. but if we rally constantly behind “every identity is valid and must be given serious consideration”, str8s see That the same as they see (1/2)
bisexuality or any other identity, and they give less of a shit about All of them.
once again, it Shouldn’t matter what the straights think, but it Does (2/2)
i’m simply tired of having to say every identity is valid. this isn’t always true and many identities are actively harmful to lgbt people both individually and as a community.
