@netflix personally I support bringing down that episode of community. I love the show, I love the episode, but any non-black human painting themselves black or brown to act like something/someone else is a no-go.
People are saying that since the creature than change dressed up as is real, he is not attempting to represent a race. When Fallon did blackface for a Chris rock impression, was that to represent a person/persona, or a race? Either way, it wasn’t right.
also like to point out that even tho Chang was specifically being a character, the historical connotations of painting yourself black are INTENSE. I should not(and would never)use the N-word, even if myintentions were “not racist because that word carries historical significance
