unpopular opinion but i think "dont compare groups" in kpop is really toxic.

extreme fans are getting attached to their idols then see other idols compared to their favorite and they see it as a threat.

fear of retaliation by discussions are things that lower the quality.
discussing about twice vocals and red velvet vocals doesnt essentially provoke fans violence, its just a discussions about vocals.

somebody saying that they prefer red velvet vocals to twice vocals and another fans starting a fight. cutting up the discussion b4 it even begins.
the real problem is there are fans out there whos not tolerate enough to handle analysis of 2 groups between one artist they like and other artist they dislike.

instead of telling "extreme fans stop treating everything like a personal attack" we give that immaturity and excuse.
analysis and smearing are 2 different things,

prefering group that has more depth in lyrics and more sensual focus informs a comparison between groups of that style

but you cant label another group talentless just because you dont like cute concept.
you allowed to like it and love it. i dont get the hype of avengers and i think that dark knight is far more superior movie.

same as in kpop, why i think i like / dont like and what i think is creative / lazy is bcs i have standards.
you can agree-disagree on some opinion but shutting down the conversation just because afraid of immature fans will get on a war with you is just????
when we silence comparison we just hurt ourselves in the end.

if you dont like a comeback but you praise the group anyway, theyre gonna keep making music you dont like.

BLIND LOYALTY and ISOLATING ARTIST are signs of obsessive fanship.
at the end we're just consumers.

fans paying money. when we blindly praised lower quality products, companies will produce content with less effort.

when somebody protest and someone said "dont compare", we tell the company to screw us again.

and cycle repeats.
