Was planning on not saying anything as I don’t want to be seen as whinging for a free 5-star hotel stay, but here we go. Here’s my experience entering the mandatory hotel quarantine yesterday. https://twitter.com/SBSNews/status/1276683168184102912

Plane lands, everyone gets up to disembark... nope you its going to be another 30 mins. Everyones lined up and squished together, then has to move back to their seats negating any distancing that happened on the flight. Obvious crew weren’t made aware by border force earlier.

Next, lets get the entire plane into the first corridor with 2 border force officers trying to enforce distancing for 200 passengers. They’re of course not wearing masks thought theyve been doing this for other flights that day I’m sure.

Oh and this entire time you’re constantly reminded its against the law to take photos of any personel. I wonder why...

Next up, temperature check and information from medical team. All wearing gowns and n95 masks here. Nicely done here

Now you go through immigration. 1 in 5 officers wearing a mask No plexiglass between us. I assume they see every passenger from every plane. During normal times the automated gates are used. You’d think itd be a no-brainer to use them now. Just constantly disinfect the screens.

At the hotel, check in with the police in a smallish room. Half are wearing masks though they get to greet every passenger!

The saviour ADF are here as well. This time most are wearing masks. But they aren’t enforcing any proper conduct from others. Just moving bags and escorting you to your rooms. Not really sure what all the fuss about using them is.

Now the worst part. Our saviours the ADF are here to load our bags on the bus. Some masked, some not. We get on the bus waiting for a good 30 minutes with it 70% full and no aircon or windows open. You want covid? Well you will get it here. I don’t think even a mask can save you.

Get to the hotel. Police gives a loud speech on the bus with info on our stay. We’re all wearing masks, so they decide not to wear one as they project their voice down the bus

Bag pickup and waiting for the bus is done very well. Chairs spread out to encourage distancing
