Just arrived for this one, follow along for updates

A group of folks just showed up with goggles, gas masks, etc. An organizer tells me "they're really aggressive here, so we came prepared just in case." Says he got arrested by LASD at the Compton protest last week for no reason.

An organizer with Black Future Project just outlined the plan: first, an eight minute 46 second moment of silence for George Floyd. Then, since there's a curfew in Beverly Hills starting at nine, we'll march to West Hollywood...

The curfew only applies to groups of ten or more, so they're going to stand just across the line in West Hollywood and then small groups will cross back into Beverly Hills while the rest of the crowd chants for them in W Hollywood. Organizer: "we're going to mind-fuck the police"

Organizer: "We are not violent. The police are violent. We are dressed like this for protection... Our stories are our ammo. Our voices are our ammo. Our ancestors are our ammo."

He says last time they marched here the cops shot ten people with less-lethal ammo. Says somebody had a seizure

Organizer talking about the group's (Black Future Project) demands: 1) adopt the #PeoplesBudgetLA

Demand 2) defund the police, including school police. He's talking about how school police departments have the same roots as other police departments: slave patrols

He says the Los Angeles School Police Department should be abolished and replaced with mental health counselors, put money towards arts, theater departments, etc

The next demand is to abolish the k-12 history curriculum. "These textbooks are written by white men... Have Black people write their own history"

"A lot of you, even though you're out here, you're racist. Y'all have generational curses just like we do"

A woman just took the mic who says she's Michael Brown's cousin. "I'm out here for more than just my cousin. I'm out here for every soul that's been lost... Fighting for six years is not an easy thing... I'm only 30 years old and I've been through more than you can imagine"

"It's a hard, hard thing to see someone that you love be on the media. The media twists thing... They show looting... They don't show peaceful shit like this"

She says she lost her job today because they didn't want her to protest. "My cousin died for me to be here. So if he can die for that, I can say fuck that job"

Curfew is coming in seven minutes. We're not too close to West Hollywood. Organizer says "we have armor, we have gear. We're going to leave, but sometimes they like to rush you"

A few people are giving advice on what to do when the test gas hits. I don't see any cops around, but organizers seem pretty sure they're gonna attack us

And they tore it down (for the record nobody in my pictures touched the flag)

They're blocking the intersection in front of the police station and they say they're gonna stay until the cops make em leave. Ten minutes after curfew right now

Still calm here for now. Apparently the curfew only applies to residential areas. This isn't really a residential area

There's a guy speaking right now who says he grew up in a white suburb outside of Nashville and someone hung a noose on a tree at the high school and the school did absolutely nothing about it

An organizer is asking people to put lasers and flashlights away and not throw anything at the cops

Crowd is asking for umbrellas. Everybody getting ready for a police attack

Somebody says cops are gearing up but I don't see em. I did hear their radio earlier, somebody said they were reading a penal code

There's a few cops up the block aways but this is it, I haven't seen any riot cops tonight

They're starting to march again

They're trying to convince people to leave, but this crowd is not having it

Unlawful assembly declared. Also this is the second time in a week they pointed weapons at me for filming

The cops are very annoyed that people aren't leaving

They just arrested one of the main organizers. Dragged him across the ground

Somebody they arrested is on the ground. Something's wrong. They seem to be purposefully hiding what's happening with him. I can't see what's going on. The crowd is getting agitated about it
