This week at the nonprofit #childcare center I direct we worked hard to get ready to reopen in July. Set up no contact drop off station, Temperature logging stations for staff, new cleaning logs, new temp logs for kids, we filled hand sanitizer bottles 1/6
Reorganized work spaces, started setting up isolation area for sick kids, practiced diaper changes with protective gear, got contracts signed for less than half our families to return 2/6
We are smart strong committed & working together . We are #ece professionals & we are working so hard even though without fiscal support we know we won’t make it with so many new PPE items daily, lower enrollment, and the real threat of closing when exposure to COVID happens 3/6
We are opening but that doesn’t mean we will make it. I am good with finances so training isn’t going to help me make the money work . Support orgs keep saying that & support like that is good when needed. But the numbers don’t balance in the current realty of #childcare 4/6
We need money to hold up the #childcare sector. We need it now before we close in 6 months. It’s gonna cost more to rebuild. Listen to us. Don’t take so long to do surveys and make pretty graphics because we already know that without fiscal support we’re not gonna make it. 5/6
Covid isn’t going anywhere, if we want #childcare, we need to #fundchildcare. If we keep measuring & predicting instead of funding, y’all are gonna have to make pretty graphics about how much it’s gonna cost &how many years it’s gonna take to get quality centers back again. 6/6
