I was doing some reflecting with my career coach today, and I had a moment I got emotional because I even though I already knew it, I was like, damn, this woman really really believes in me for real.

I’ve known this for a while, but sometimes to consciously think about the fact that someone REALLY believes in you, it can be emotional.

She’s not the only person who really believes in me, but it means so much to me because she’s seen me through some low points and I feel almost no one knows my career story like her.

For so much of our careers as Black women, we have people gaslighting us, trying to make us doubt ourselves, our value, and our skills, it can be a very emotional response to reflect on those who really believe in us and invest in us.
