A little perspective regarding KeShawn Vaughn.

I keep hearing “All of a sudden he gets drafted by the Bucs and now everyone likes him.”

Perhaps. But not for me.

I have liked Vaughn for a couple of years now.

He has been a top 10 RB in this loaded 2020 class all along.
In the summer of 2018 we were awaiting his arrival to Vanderbilt after having to sit out a season as a transfer.

In 2015 as an 18 yr old true freshman - he put up 842 total yards and 6 TDs while competing with 5th year senior Josh Ferguson.

His 2016 campaign was a wash.
His junior season at Vanderbilt in 2018 was exceptional - 1244 rushing yards & 12 TDs on only 157 carries (7.9 YPC). Explosive.

He did this on a below average team competing in the best conference (SEC) in the land.

I would have had him as a top 3 RB in the 2019 class.
He decided to stay in school and return to Vanderbilt.

Summer of 2019 and he is now firmly in the top 10 of the 2020 RB Class.

Just after the draft in 2019 and he is my RB 10 for 2020. https://twitter.com/dynogametheory/status/1135234341657669632
During the 2019 season we get to continue to see Vaughn perform, despite his team being quite bad, especially at run blocking. His explosion is evident.

It leads me to this take, and I still think it’s correct as we sit today. https://twitter.com/dynogametheory/status/1213241838640844800
Fast forward to Feb 2020. Pre combine. Pre draft.

I have these backs ranked pretty damn accurately.

And Vaughn is my RB6.

He is a rugged, explosive and versatile back who can make an immediate impact. https://twitter.com/dynogametheory/status/1224380300764971008
In summary. I have no idea if Vaughn is going to bust or breakout, But I’m betting on a breakout.

He profiles as a versatile back with good pass blocking skills who can make an immediate impact for a win now NFL team.

He landed on a win-now NFL team with a gaping hole at RB.
