I've seen a lot of people demanding a KSU student to be expelled today and I questioned if KSU legally could. So I spent absolutely way too long looking in to it. This is going to be a long thread so I'll just start and say my conclusion is the school can't legally do anything.

There have been numerous cases going to the supreme court and time and time again hate speech is protected. Many people think the college can have their own policies that go around the first amendment. Just like an employer can fire you because you tweeted something racist, so too can a university expel you for the same thing, right? Well, it depends.

There was one case many will remember that did go against what I've said. Five years ago members of the SAE fraternity at OU chanted... things. Two students were almost instantly expelled. While the legality was definitely questioned, it doesn't seem it was ever overturned.

Many student athletes have demanded "a policy created against racism that will expel any student that openly displays racism on all platforms" and I just don't see how they legally can. It violates the first amendment. You are asking for KSU to do the impossible.

It's embarrassing for Jaden to be in any way linked to KSU. He's a piece of shit. I want him expelled, but I don't see any way that happens with what was said. I want to be proved wrong and would love for anyone to send me something that says otherwise.
