To any white actors giving up their work for black actors, I understand the intentions behind it, but instead of sacrificing your bread, why not use your studio level seniority to push for more diversity? Why not recommend more POC inclusion to your directors and clients? (1/4)
I'd rather know we're given new opportunities on the same level rather than taking them away from others, especially when they know we could all be given a chance to voice anything we want. I'd rather you not stifle yourselves to give us what’s essentially a handicap. (2/4)
There are people in the industry who praise Black/POC actors, but do nothing in their industry to help them get enough work. And that raises the question: What's stopping you from helping your Black/POC friends from getting work beside you instead of filling in your shoes? (3/4)
Good allyship is encouraging more inclusion in the work you're in, and as a result, the talent pool diversifies naturally. There's generosity and then there's pity, and giving up 1 roles doesn't change nor fix the many opportunities that have been and are being denied.(4/4)
