If Gerald Butts was held to the same standard that aggressive Left uses on conservatives, he would be harassed out of a job now.

We don’t do this because Butts would be fair enough to apply this same standard to others. His actions indicate that’s unlikely.
We set a fair standard for forgiveness because it helps us all, because it helps cement in place a productive process, a Golden Rule, so to speak.

The goal here should not be to, “Own the libs” or “Own the Left.” Pursuing that goal is a distraction and may well sideline fair minded and productive individuals from the real goal, a better life, a better world. We have built this world of prosperity. Let’s not get sidetracked

I can assure you the aggressive Left will never cancel Cancel Culture, even as it starts to take out old school liberals and moderate socialists. It’s up to reasonable, principled and productive people to cancel Cancel Culture. That is you and me. It’s our job.
