This is a thread on the very bizarre arrangements the Tories are having with virtually unknown companies.

And if you know of any more please let us know.
Firstly, is anyone else following Jolyon Maugham's forensic investigation of UK Government's "Covid spending".

No?

Ok keep reading...
He claimed on 24 June that UK Gov had given £14.28M to a company specialising in "Wholesale of sugar and chocolate and sugar confectionery".

Stay tuned...here’s the breakdown...
He amended that today to "It gave £14.28m PLUS £93.24m"

Now that's (near as dammit) £108M. Remember that number.

Write it down if you need to remember it. Here’s why...
He has found evidence of other UK Government "Covid spend".

Pestfix: £108m
Clandeboye: £108m
Seaborne Ferries: £108m
Serco Track & Trace: £108m

All £108m. But why that amount? Keep reading...
£108m (£90m + VAT) keeps them below threshold for "Strategic suppliers" which would require extra controls and overseeing. (See pic).
So, that might seem like a lot of money, right? And it is. But maybe we’ll get that £350m a week from Brexit, eh?

Wrong. Analysts have shown that the costs to leave the EU exceed the benefits. You can look that up.

Oh and the next one...
It’s almost as bad as the garden bridge. Or the water cannon. Or HS2.

When can we leave this utterly disastrous union?
