For the longest time as a person who grew up V poor I had a deep distrust of most of the loudest Marxists in my sphere bc they all came from families I would describe as wealthy. ((Middle class was and is wealthy to me))

I’ve been talking to my mom abt dem socialism a lot(cont)

And realize she has the same biases I did bc it does feel to her like her son got a lot more privilege than he grew up w when he went to college then came back saying the idea that he had “escaped” poverty through his own hard work is a complex myth.

even ideas around workers being human beings who shouldn’t tie themselves to labor to feel like they have worth makes no sense to her because she cant imagine another alternative. Moreover she loves her job.

I say this bc I wonder who else feels the same & how they talk to fam
