Hi I'm not sure if anybody will see this but if you're a SG Citizen and want to be involved in the electoral process in some way or another you can volunteer under the various political parties to be a polling/counting agent for them!!! (thread)
Being a polling/counting agent allows us as citizens, to ensure that the electoral process is conducted freely & fairly according to the Law that governs them!
also!! this also allows for the various political parties involved to have their interests represented, especially during the counting process of the votes as the current process of sorting votes is thru manual means, where human errors from Counting officials might occur
imagine if, in this scenario if a candidate that had a vote incorrectly sorted does not have a counting agent present. this would result in a lost vote for said candidate and could hypothetically lose due to inaccurate sorting of votes. after all in an election, every vote counts
some of you (like myself initially) might ask, "what if i'm not eligible to vote in this round of elections? can i still be a polling agent?"
absolutely big big yes you still can be involved!! there are very few requirements to do so

As long as you:
-are a singaporean citizen
-are not currently a pri or sec sch student (yes poly/jc/uni friends you can volunteer!)
-are not an undischarged bankrupt
-don't have a pending criminal case against you
*you can volunteer!!*

and since 10th July is a public holiday, why not use that day and go volunteer?

If anyone is interested after reading this thread is curious about what being a polling/counting agent entails, I would suggest you read the linked article!! it helped me to solve a huge chunk of my own questions regarding it!! https://newnaratif.com/comic/the-importance-of-polling-agents-and-counting-agents/
