Tree-lined streets and quaint small town charm. Everyone knows each other. It's community.

Also, what if the parents of Elm Street knew what Krueger was doing to kids but collectively decided to NOT take action?

A different kind of horror.

Welcome to Healdsburg of the 1980s.
These from '01 & '02 respectively. Not from the local paper, for the rule when spotlighting a favored son is to not speak ill of the dRead.

One had to seek objectivity away from influence. But even they dare not describe a cop "having sex with" children as the rape that it is.
I'll be revisiting this thread from time to time, processing an arc in a journey of years. An attempt to come to terms per se with a reality to which many entertain a long conditioned blindness. Not that #Healdsburg is so unlike ANYTOWN, USA. It's just the one I know.
My lens is not so focused on monsters hiding in the dark. Their moment of terror is fleeting, and when finally dragged into the sunlight are seen for their weak and bleating brokenness. The true poison is, as has always been the systemic enablement from which such horrors spawn.
...But that, of course, is a poor hook for sustainable tourism. #Healdsburg.
So how does one move through this?

Or move ON from it?

Or take inspiration from those who do?

That is the journey then, it seems.

And on it we are. Hopefully towards the good.

Because the shaded sidewalks of Elm Street are quite beautifully charming in the sunlight of day.
