Probably burning all my bridges with local arts institutions here, but my rapist is still employed at @tynesidecinema #metoo

When I reported it, the HR department made me do an interview in the very public @tynesidebarcafe, and made me go over the specific and intricate details of my rape while members of the public sat around me having coffee #metoo

Heard from the other accusers that the investigation was dismissed as @tynesidecinema never bothered to contact me after getting all the gory details #metoo

I guess this hurts because I truly love the @tynesidecinema. I spent five years there surrounded by some of the most wonderful people. But I feel let down that once again, an institution is allowing men to abuse their positions of power #metoo

Add insult to injury @tynesidecinema contacted the police w/out my consent. I didnt want to prosecute as there was no evidence but got dragged through the police system to the eventual dropping of the case cuz you guessed it, there was no evidence. Thx for that xtra trauma #metoo

So yeah, goodbye career in the arts I guess
I just hope @tynesidecinema find a way to materially address the circumstances that allow a predator free reign to their staff instead of a mealy mouthed PR apology that they will âdo betterâ & âtake the claims seriouslyâ #metoo

While weâre at it, as one of the only poc in the entire organisation at the time (lol). I was in a vulnerable and precarious situation & havenât been dealt with with any respect. So plz take that into account in your next âcommitment to anti-racism meetingâ @tynesidecinema #metoo
